You asked for it, here it is: A lighted arcade style button. It has an LED in it, and it gets power directly from the USB cable.
Available in red, green, blue, yellow, or white.
This button comes without a case, so you can install it in whatever enclosure or panel you'd like. This button has a flat top, and clicks nicely when you press it. It's said to be good for ten million presses. You can swap out the microswitch easily after ten million...
The button fits easily in a 1" hole, but would also fit in a 15/16" hole, if you're really trying to be precise. The button is approximately 1 1/4" in diameter. It comes with a 6' usb cable. When mounting this button in an enclosure or panel, you should be sure to create some kind of strain relief for the USB cable.
So what does it do? Well, it can do almost anything you'd like. Normally, it prints a space, which makes it perfect for most DIY Photo Booth software. I use Sparkbooth, and this button is great with it. It will also work with Qlab, if you're using that program for audio or video playback, perhaps for a video installation where you'd like someone to push a button to trigger an event or cue.
If you'd like the button to print another character, that's not a problem. We can make any of our buttons send any character or combination of characters you'd like. It can even send a mouse click, if that's what you're looking for.
If you're using "DSLR Remote Pro" by Breeze Software, the button will need to be reprogrammed to send an F4. Please select "F4" at checkout for this option
These buttons can also be used with AllJ Custom Slot Machine software.
This prints a space when pressed, and has a 1 second delay to prevent a double-go, which means it can't send more than one command per second, no matter how many times the button is hit. It also requires a "key-up event" to print a second space. Therefore, if the button is pressed and held down, it still only prints one space, and will not print another until after the button is released.
USB cable color may be different than pictured.
Works with both Mac OS X and Windows operating systems. No drivers required.
